Hi. One of the things I'd like to do is start keeping kind of an accountability chart or whatever, just keeping track of what I'm doing, what I plan to do, and what I actually accomplish to see if I'm actually making any progress whatsoever. Yeah. Down here on my master task list for January, I have: Read one script a week; read one book a week; make one bonus episode. I don't think that's actually one bonus episode a week. Actually, I think what I meant to say there was two bonus episodes a month, and I think that is something that I've accomplished for the following month, in terms of the bonus episodes for February. I have not come anywhere near to reading one book a week. I'm not that fast, but maybe if I took 'em one at a time, I would be, I don't know.
But I will say that I'm currently reading this one and it's really fantastic. This is a really fantastic book, Anna O by Matthew Blake. The other thing I was going to say was I tried to read one script a week. I was doing okay until I got to the end of the month, and then something kind of got in the way and I ended up reading actually a script for another thing I'm doing, which is script reading, kind of like a book club where we discuss scripts in the way people discuss books in book clubs. So that's been interesting and it's all part of what I'm trying to do as a writer and a screenwriter to improve my craft and to be diligent, to write diligently, to do these things diligently in order to become better.
So hopefully I can stay accountable and stay on track and continue to make small progress in terms of organizing my room, organizing my computer files, and doing things like this. You see what I'm doing with my thumb there. That takes real work on my part. Real honest to God work. There. I can't believe I did that and I kept my arm by my side, which is … I can't stick my arm out like this and cheat. I have to do it with my arm at my side. So those are the things I'm working on now.
And yes, I write pretty much every day except on weekends. Sometimes I write on weekends, but not that often because I consider that my day job, “day job,” so to speak. Anyway, that's it. That's my update for now and hopefully I can stay on track and continue to do better. That's it, and I will talk to you later. Thanks!
