I don’t know about you, but I’m ready to move on. Past all the years that came before the one that’s coming up!

I’ve been working on a “Year in Review” video. But I’ll probably post that a little later on. Probably on yet another blog. 🙂

Meanwhile, I hope you’ll enjoy this one! 🙂

You should be able to see a transcript of my video. I think. Maybe not.

Here’s the one provided by Substack (it took a bit of prettying up to make it readable and for some reason, it briefly thought I was e.e. cummings):

Hi! Has everyone else or anyone else noticed the sheer plentitude of emails coming into one's email box that say, “Start the new year off right, here's a program.” Yeah. Boy, they're out there and they really want me to join their program, but I don't have all the money in the world to do that.

So all I can say is I am starting a community. It's going to start in January, but I don't know exactly when, because frankly I still need to set some things up to make it the kind of place I want it to be. A place that's welcoming and supportive and with the emphasis on networking, collaboration, and doing something outside of the, I don't know, normal social media places.

I just think we need to get away from places where there's advertising, where algorithms determine your success, just to get together and discuss things and solve each other's problems by simply sharing knowledge.

That's all there is to it. That's all I'm offering. As well as my own courses. I'll probably have courses up there.

I have a mystery writing course. I have a plotting course. I even have a self-publishing course. But I don't know if I'm going to put that up there or not. I'm not sure at this point if the world needs another self-publishing course.

But in any case, just thought I would say that.

And here's to a wonderful 2025, and thank you everyone who's subscribed to this channel. I really appreciate it. I cannot believe how many subscribers I've managed to accumulate over the last ... How long have I been doing this? 10, 12 years? Something like that.

Anyway, it's been a wonderful experience to do it, because I used to be extremely awkward on camera, and now ... I don't have a problem with it really at all. So practice, you know, makes perfect no matter what you're doing. And sometimes it's imperfect and that's okay too.

I'm trying to set up straight. Dystonia, yeah.

Anyway, here's a little thing I found while I was organizing my office. Perhaps I shall use it as a kind of warning to anybody who comes to the community and does not behave in accordance with the rules.

*shaking gavel at the camera*

“Hey, you. I'm calling you out.mBoom, boom, boom, boom. I'm the judge here in this particular court, which is my courtroom.” :)

No, it's simply a community, not a courtroom.nAnd we're not there to judge so much as to support, collaborate, network, that sort of thing. Good stuff. Things that should lead to better things for everyone, I hope.

All right, then. That's it, and I will talk to you later.

Happy New Year, if you, uh, watch this before or after New Year's.

Take care and be seeing you.

On top of that, I got a really cool book in the mail just now.

Queen of Diamonds. Yeah, this sounds really awesome.

The description is Peaky Blinders.

Peaky Blinders—but with women! In the thrilling final installment of Breezy Marsh's riveting Crime Trilogy about a real-life London gang that began with Queen of Thieves, we go back to crime queen Alice Diamond's bold beginnings in 1920s Soho.

Wow, I'm intrigued. So I was looking into this author, and I noticed that she got coverage in the Hartlepool Mail. Hartlepool Mail? Am I saying that right? Hartlepool?I've heard of Hartlepool. There's a guy out there who mentions it a lot. His name's Paul Brazill. I like his stuff. He's cool. He's a lot of fun to read. He likes musicians. So I can really dig that sort of thing. If I can use that word, dig. :)

I enjoy that sort of thing. I relish in that sort of thing. Okay, because I love music.

Anyway, that was all I had to say to add to that. Yeah, I'm looking forward to reading this book, I'll tell you that. Hartlepool and all.

Be seeing you.

Oh, and I'll confess to this.

I had to look up what Peaky Blinders was.

All I could think of was “Dinsdale!”

Sorry.

Sorry I went there.

But not really.

Be seeing you. In 2025!

I should post this somewhere …
